Virgin Galactic unveils spaceship III, bringing us closer to space tourism

[ad_1]
Aircraft design company Virgin Galactic recently unveiled its first Spaceship III ship called VSS Imagine. This ship is almost entirely covered in mirrors and looks like a drawing straight out of a science fiction movie. Similar to some of these sci-fi spaceships, this design can quickly camouflage itself in new environments as the mirror reflects the colors around it.
Imagine is part of the next generation of improvements to previous Spaceship II designs and can be produced more efficiently than its predecessor. This means Virgin Galactic’s pioneering space tourism mission is closer than you might think.
“Virgin Galactic spaceships are uniquely designed to offer a transformative new perspective to the thousands of people who will soon be able to experience the wonders of space for themselves,” said Virgin Galactic founder Richard Branson. “As a Spaceship III class vehicle, Imagine is not only beautiful to look at, but represents Virgin Galactic’s growing fleet of spacecraft. All great achievements, creations and changes begin with an idea. Our hope is that everyone who travels in space will return with new perspectives and new ideas that will bring positive changes to our planet. “
Virgin Galactic has improved the production process with a modular spaceship design system, and the company is now testing its effectiveness in other areas. In the summer of 2021, VSS Imagine will begin gliding tests with Spaceport America in New Mexico.
Once Imagine begins these tests, the company plans to begin production of another design in its Spaceship III series called VSS Inspire. So, if Imagine’s shiny exterior is your passion for space travel, the next generation is sure to be just as amazing.
